Frequently asked questions
What are the benefits of chai?
Masala chai is more than just a comforting, deeply aromatic ritual; it is a powerhouse of wellness. Because it is packed with whole, natural spices, a daily cup provides a synergistic blend of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory compounds, and digestive aids that support your body from the inside out.
Ginger & Black Pepper: This classic combination is excellent for the gut. Ginger accelerates gastric emptying and relieves bloating, while black pepper stimulates taste buds to signal the stomach to produce hydrochloric acid, improving the breakdown and absorption of nutrients.
Green Cardamom & Nutmeg: Cardamom has been used for centuries to soothe the stomach lining, prevent gas, and combat nausea, while nutmeg adds gentle carminative properties to keep your digestion smooth.
eylon Cinnamon & Cloves: Chronic inflammation is at the root of many wellness struggles. Ceylon cinnamon is packed with potent antioxidants (polyphenols) that fight oxidative stress, while cloves contain high amounts of eugenol, a compound scientifically proven to ease inflammatory responses and soothe bodily aches.
Ginger: Contains gingerols, which act as natural anti-inflammatory agents to help ease muscle soreness and stiffness.
How do I brew the mix at home?
- Boil: Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
- Steep: Add 1 tablespoon of our Masala Chai blend. Turn down the heat to low and let it simmer for 3–5 minutes, allowing the spices to fully release their essential oils.
- Milk: Add 4oz milk, bring back to a gentle boil, then turn off heat.
- Sweeten & Strain: Stir in a touch of raw honey, maple syrup or jaggery to elevate the natural sweetness of the spices. Strain into your favorite mug, take a deep breath, and enjoy.
Note: You can use just milk, instead of water for a creamier chai. Add at the beginning 12 oz of milk, add 1 tbsp of the mix, bring to a boil, let it simmer for 3 minutes , sweeten and strain.
Can I make the concentrate at home?
Yes. Here is our recipe
Concentrate for 8 cups of chai
1. Add 4 cups of water and 8 tbs of chai mix
2. Stir and bring the mix to a boil
3.Let it simmer for 5 minutes
4. Add sweetener of your choice
5. Strain, let it cool down and put it in the fridge.
To make the perfect cup of chai, add 1/2 cup of concentrate to 1/2 cup of milk. Pour it over ice of heat it up and enjoy.
Where are your products from?
We import the spices from India. Some of the teas, like the Rooibos come from Sri Lanka. We grind everything ourselves weekly to maintain the freshness of the chai.
What are the benefits of matcha?
Matcha is a vibrant, nutrient-dense daily luxury that offers an entirely different energy profile and wellness experience compared to other teas. Because you consume the entire stone-ground green tea leaf rather than just the brewed water, you receive 100% of its powerful nutrients, antioxidants, and health benefits.
Sustained "Calm Energy" (No Jitters, No Crash)
- The L-Theanine Effect: Matcha is exceptionally rich in L-theanine, a rare amino acid that promotes relaxation and alpha brain wave activity.
- Perfect Balance: When combined with matcha’s natural caffeine, L-theanine slows the release of caffeine into your bloodstream. This creates a state of "sustained alertness"—providing 4 to 6 hours of clean, steady energy, razor-sharp focus, and a grounded mindset without the jittery spikes or sudden crashes associated with coffee.
2. A Super-Dose of Antioxidants (EGCG)
- Free-Radical Fighter: Matcha is a powerhouse of catechins, a class of plant compounds that act as potent natural antioxidants.
- The Power of EGCG: Most notably, it contains high levels of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which has been extensively researched for its ability to fight oxidative stress, reduce cellular inflammation, protect cells from damage, and support long-term cellular health.
3. Revs Up the Metabolism
- Natural Thermogenesis: Studies suggest that regular consumption of high-quality green tea powder can help boost your metabolic rate and increase your body's natural rate of fat-burning (thermogenesis), especially when consumed before movement or a daily workout, all without putting stress on your heart.
4. Direct Support for Detoxification
- The Chlorophyll Cleanse: Because true ceremonial matcha is meticulously shade-grown for several weeks before harvest, the tea plants overproduce chlorophyll. This high chlorophyll content is what gives premium matcha its electric, vibrant emerald hue and acts as a natural purifier, helping the body gently clear out everyday toxins and heavy metals.
5. Radiant Skin From Within
- Anti-Aging & Clarity: The high concentration of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties in matcha does wonders for your skin. EGCG helps reduce sebum production, calms redness, protects against UV damage, and supports skin elasticity, giving you a natural, healthy glow.
6. Heart and Immune Protection
- Cardiovascular Support: Regular matcha consumption has been linked to lower levels of LDL ("bad") cholesterol and triglycerides, helping to keep your cardiovascular system running smoothly.
- Immune Defense: Matcha contains essential vitamins (like Vitamin C), minerals, and minerals that reinforce your immune system, helping your body ward off seasonal bugs.
The Ceremonial Difference: To get the most vibrant flavor and maximum health benefits, look for high-grade
Ceremonial Matcha from regions like Uji, Japan. Premium grades deliver a naturally sweet, creamy, and umami-rich mouthfeel with absolutely zero bitterness, making your health routine feel like a true daily luxury.
